Land Surveyor

Idaho Survey Group is seeking a Professional Land Surveyor to work in our Boise, Idaho office. Our primary areas of survey practice include land development, boundary, and construction surveys. This position will work under the direction of a senior PLS. Candidates must have strong math, communication and organizational skills; be a team player; be physically fit with a willingness/enthusiasm to work outdoors, as well as in a professional office environment on a wide variety of projects. This position may require overtime and work outdoors in adverse conditions, as needed.

Job Duties

  •  Communicate with the client and project team to understand the goals, challenges, schedule, budget, and expectations of project
  • Conduct research to obtain the appropriate public/ private land records, survey control data, and other pertinent information from various sources for boundaries, location, topographical and design surveys, location of right of way, and utility locations
  • Request information from title companies, highway departments, municipalities, etc. that relate to property being surveyed and adding information to CAD drawing
  • Preparation of Construction, Subdivision, ALTA, Boundary, Topographic, and Special Surveys, Legal Descriptions and Surveying Exhibits to fit client needs
  • Put together field packets for field work, check and breakdown field notes and coordinate information & questions with field crew and project manager
  • Manage CAD generated surface models and generate accurate contours, cross sections and profile drawings for engineering design.
  • Perform field work as needed
  • Mentor other survey staff members

Qualifications/Requirements

  • College degree in civil engineering, construction management, surveying and geomatics or BS in a related science and at least 24 semester hours of land surveying approved courses per 225 ILCS 330/13
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D 2011 or higher
  • Ability read and understand Architectural, Structural and Engineering Site Plans
  • 1-3 years experience
  • Must communicate well with clients, other professionals (architects, engineers, landscape architects, site supervisors), accommodate client needs and create work orders to complete field work
  • Valid driving license and driving record acceptable to our Company insurance provider
  • Must be U.S. Citizen or permanent resident

Project Manager

  • College degree in civil engineering, construction management, surveying and geomatics or BS in a related science and at least 24 semester hours of land surveying approved courses per 225 ILCS 330/13
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D 2011 or higher
  • Ability read and understand Architectural, Structural and Engineering Site Plans
  • 1-3 years experience

Office Technician

Job Description

Idaho Survey Group is seeking a Survey Technician to work as an Office Tech in our Boise office. Our primary areas of survey practice include land development, boundary and construction surveys. This position will work under the direction of a PLS. Candidates must have strong math, communication and organizational skills; be a team player; be physically fit with a willingness/enthusiasm to work outdoors, as well as in a professional office environment on a wide variety of projects. This position may require overtime and work outdoors in adverse conditions.

Job Duties

  •  Communicate with the client and project team to understand the goals, challenges, schedule, budget, and expectations of project
  • Conduct research to obtain the appropriate public/ private land records, survey control data, and other pertinent information from various sources for boundaries, location, topographical and design surveys, location of right of way, and utility locations
  • Survey calculations including but not limited to percent of slope, angle measuring, bearing and azimuth, coordinates, traverses, differential leveling, and horizontal curves
  • Establish and set points on construction stakeout projects (curb and gutter, drop inlets, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, water main, etc.)
  • Supervise survey assistant(s) assigned to crew
  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of survey equipment used on job site and assist others with training when practical
  • Perform office functions including computations, reduction of field notes, filing, and retrieving prints
  • Submit daily files including downloading of data, preparation and organization of field sketches and digital photographs

Qualifications

  •  Proficient using AutoCad Civil 3D Strong AutoCAD/Civil3D, and GPS/RTK, Robotic Total Station is desired
  • Prior experience as a crew chief preferred
  • Experience reading/interpreting construction plans
  • Experience with both drafting and construction staking calculations for field crews
  • Ability to operate survey equipment including but not limited to robotic total stations, GPS survey equipment, data collectors and automatic level
  • A current driver’s license in good standing & ability to operate company owned vehicles
  • Able to lift up to 75 lbs

Survey Crew Chief

Job Description

Idaho Survey Group is seeking a Survey Crew Chief to work as out of our Boise office. Our primary areas of survey practice include land development, boundary and construction surveys. This position will work under the direction of a PLS. Candidates must have strong math, communication and organizational skills; be a team player; be physically fit with a willingness/enthusiasm to work outdoors on a wide variety of projects. This position may require overtime and work outdoors in adverse conditions.

Job Duties

  • Ability to operate survey equipment including but not limited to robotic total stations, GPS survey equipment, data collectors and automatic level. Minimum 5 years experience.
  • Prepare, verify and communicate field notes, sketches, checklists and digital data in required formats for Project Managers, Land Surveyors and Drafting personnel
  • Perform field data collection and corner staking, boundary and easement surveys, topographic mapping, plat and condo documents, and construction staking
  • Work with field and office personnel, both as a team member and independently, to produce topographic surveys, record of surveys, ALTA surveys, boundary line adjustments, easement exhibits and any document required for project completion
  • Adjust surveying instruments in order to maintain their accuracy

Qualifications

  • 8 years minimum field surveying experience in land development and construction projects
  • Thorough knowledge of principles and practices of Land Surveying
  • Possess field experience in all types of physical land surveying including, boundary, topographic and construction staking
  • Experience with both drafting and construction staking calculations for field crews
  • Ability to operate survey equipment including but not limited to robotic total stations, GPS survey equipment, data collectors and automatic level
  • Communicate and coordinate project layout with contractors and clients in the field
  • Supervise survey assistants
  • Ability to travel overnight for select projects
  • Ability to carry up to 75 pounds and able to endure working in inclement weather conditions
  • A current driver’s license in good standing & ability to operate company owned vehicles

Survey Field Technician

Job Description

Idaho Survey Group is seeking a Survey Crew Assistant to work out of our West Boise office. Our primary areas of survey practice include land development, boundary and construction surveys. This position will work under the direction of a survey crew chief. Candidates must have strong math, communication, and organizational skills; be a team player; be physically fit with a willingness/enthusiasm to work outdoors on a wide variety of projects. This position may require overtime and work outdoors in adverse conditions.

Job Duties

  • Ability to operate survey equipment including but not limited to robotic total stations, GPS survey equipment, data collectors and automatic level.
  • Assist crew chief to generate field notes, sketches, checklists and digital data in required formats for Project Managers, Land Surveyors and Drafting personnel
  • Assist the crew chief with field data collection and corner staking, boundary and easement surveys, topographic mapping, plat and condo documents, and construction staking.
  • Work with field and office personnel as a team member to produce topographic surveys, record of surveys, ALTA surveys, boundary line adjustments, and construction staking.
